MBABANE:The Teaching Service Commission(TSC) represented by lawyers from Robison Bertram as instructed by the Office of the Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo, has filed a notice of intention to appeal the matter against unlawfully dismissed President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT)Mbongwa Dlamini.

This comes after Judge Zonke Magagula ruled in favour of the SNAT President on Friday, Dlamini was dismissed by the TSC without any disciplinary hearing.

Reached for comments on Tuesday,SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini confirmed the filing of the notice of intention to appeal but referred comments to his lawyer Lucky Howe.

“I can confirm that, a notice of intention to appeal has been served to our lawyers. But you can contact Lucky Howe for more details”,said the SNAT President.

When this publication contacted lawyer Howe, he was not reachable and he then called back editor Zweli Martin Dlamini later on Tuesday afternoon, unfortunately, the poor network connection prematurely resulted to the termination of the call.

Lawyer Zweli Jele, a Senior Partner at Robison Bertram had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

On another note, Government is highly expected to pay more money to the giant and reputable Robison Bertram law-firm as the matter now reaches the Supreme Court stage.

Lot Vilakati, the SNAT Secretary General told this publication on Tuesday evening that, their lawyers forwarded the documents of TSC’s intention to appeal but clarified that currently, there’s no court order preventing the SNAT President from reporting for duty pending the appeal.

“That’s why our President will continue to report to work while we push for the payment of the pending salaries until advised otherwise by our lawyers on the new developments”, he said.
