MBABANE:Naniki Mnisi, the Under Secretary in the Ministry of Education says, Government “is working on the reinstatement of Mbongwa Dlamini, the President of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers(SNAT).
This comes after Judge Zonke Magagula ruled in favour of the SNAT President after he was unlawfully dismissed by the Teaching Service Commission(TSC) but, the TSC subsequently filed a notice of intention to appeal the judgment.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the Under Secretary said, they “are engaging the TSC regarding the matter”.
But the Under Secretary addressed the media after officials from Education International(EI) arrived in the country to demand answers from the Minister of Education Owen Nxumalo regarding the matter.
The Minister and SNAT President Mbongwa Dlamini will meet the Education International officials later on Tuesday afternoon.
The influential unionist has been persecuted by Government for representing teachers, he was fired without a disciplinary hearing and the court reinstated him.
