MBABANE:Vusi Manoma Masango, the National Commissioner of eSwatini Royal Police Service(REPS) has warned junior police officers not to dare, march to Parliament in their ongoing demand for a salary increment.

This comes after Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General(SG) of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) told this Swaziland News that, junior police officers will soon march to Parliament to deliver a petition to Senator Isaac Magagula, the former National Commissioner who “is alleged to have played a pivotal role in looting millions of public funds that was meant to increase salaries for junior cops”.

But the National Commissioner has warned against such move to march to Parliament adding that, action will be taken against officers who will participate in the intended protest march.

The Police Chief said even though Senator Magagula was once the National Commissioner, there’s no reason whatsoever, for the junior cops to deliver a petition to him.

“The REPS acknowledges the fact that Senator Magagula was once the National Commissioner of Police, however, this does not warrant that he should be hackled over this issue therefore we condemn such behavior in the strongest possible terms”, said the National Commissioner in a press statement released on Thursday.

National Commissioner Masango further mentioned that, the issue of salary increment for junior police officers under Phase two(2) “is being handled” by a Consultant.

“We would like to assure the Nation that we are committed to our mandate and that the intended march is unlawful, therefore the Police Service distances itself from the intended action by this clique of officers”, he said.
