MBABANE:Velaphi Mamba, the leader of eSwatini main and largest political party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) addressed the 5th Special National Congress of the South African Communist Party(SACP) held in Birchwoord Hotel this week.
As reported by the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) and other international media entities, the PUDEMO leader first recognized the presence of the Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) and other international partners of the SACP.
Mamba thanked the SACP for standing in solidarity with the people of eSwatini during the June 2021 massacre, accusing King Mswati of killing innocent civilians.
“The South African Communist Pary is the only revolutionary force that persistently and consistently stood with the people of Swaziland even to this day. I stand comrades on the blood of comrade Thulani Maseko, a renowned celebrated human rights lawyer who, on the 21st of January 2023 was assassinated by the regime of King Mswati III. As I stand here today, there has been no accountability for this impunity”, he said.
The PUDEMO leader then appealed for more support for the struggle for democracy in eSwatini, saying the time for King Mswati’s royal family is over.
“It is time for us to end the dictatorship of the family of King Mswati III”, said the PUDEMO leader.
