MBABANE:Alpheous Nxumalo,the Government Spokesperson has accused Executive member of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Velaphi Mamba of misleading the world during the recent Special Congress of the South African Communist Party(SACP).
Speaking on his online platform on Tuesday afternoon, the Government Spokesperson said, “it is not true that PUDEMO was banned because it is feared by the Monarchy” but, the political organization used violence to communicate its political ideology.
“PUDEMO was banned in this country for using violence to communicate its political ideology not because it is feared by the Monarchy,” he said.
Nxumalo further accused Mamba of misleading the world by alleging that, the institution of the Monarchy “is a one man’s show”, he said emaSwati love and has been protecting the institution of the Monarchy.
“The institution of the Monarchy has been in existence for more than four hundred(400) years and, emaSwati love and has been protecting this institution”,said the Government Spokesperson.
Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned from participating in elections, while human rights defenders are arrested, tortured, forced to exile or killed for demanding democracy.
PUDEMO is eSwatini’s main and largest political party advocating for democracy in this tiny undemocratic Kingdom.
