MBABANE:Gogo Mathunjwa of Hosea says she is slowly dying of starvation after the arrest of Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, the eSwatini prominent pro-democracy Member of Parliament(MP).
Mabuza was arrested and subsequently convicted on politically motivated terrorism charges merely for demanding democracy,the order to arrest the MP as revealed by former Army Commander Jeffery Shabalala in a recorded conversation, was allegedly issued by Mswati, an absolute Monarch.
“Ngilambile, sengyafa yindlala, uBacede abengisiza angthengela ukudla bambopha(meaning: I am hungry and dying of starvation,Bacede who was helping me with food was arrested)”, said the elderly when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Mabuza, a successful businessman, was convicted after being charged with terrorism and murder following the June 2021 political unrest, he was first accused of inciting the people to rebel against the authorities.
