This was announced by Sikelela Dlamini, the MSF Secretary General in a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Monday morning.
“The Multi Stakeholder Forum Swaziland (MSF) is pleased to announce that its elective General Assembly will take place in March 2025. This pivotal event marks the conclusion of the current leadership’s two-year term and sets the stage for the election of new leaders to steer the organization forward. Over the past two years, the MSF has made significant strides in raising awareness about Swaziland’s political challenges through both local and international media platforms. These efforts have helped clarify the principles underpinning the Swazi struggle for democracy and have further consolidated the Swazi Mass Democratic Movement. In response to the escalating hostility of the Swazi state, the MSF took the decisive step of relocating its operational secretariat offices to South Africa,” said the Secretary General.
On another note, Dlamini said the relocation of the MSF Office to South Africa ensured the continuity of the organization’s operations and strengthened its ability to defend political activists and democracy advocates facing persecution in eSwatini.
“The MSF acknowledges the critical role it has played in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of those committed to the democratic cause. As the General Assembly approaches, the organization remains steadfast in its mission to support and advocate for the principles of justice, equality and democracy. To ensure full participation in the upcoming General Assembly, all MSF affiliates are strongly encouraged to meet their membership requirements. This inclusive approach underscores the MSF’s commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among its members as it prepares for this significant event,” reads the statement in part.
