Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Health Khanya Mabuza assures protesting Emergency Response workers that overtime allowances will be paid in February, NAPSAWU welcomes commitment.

MBABANE:Khanya Mabuza, the Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Heath has assured protesting employees of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Department (EPR) that they will receive their overtime allowances in February 2025.

This is contained in a minute from the PS directed to the EPR Program Manager, the minute is dated 08 January 2025.

“Funds to pay the overtime allowance have been sourced and awaiting payment authority tomorrow. Kindly be assured that the overtime allowance will be included in the February, 2025 payroll”, said the PS in the minute.

Efforts to seek further comments from the PS proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments on Tuesday morning, Bawinile Ndlovu, the President of the National Public Services & Allied Workers Union (NAPSAWU) confirmed the commitment by Government to pay the overtime allowances at the end of next month.

“We are aware of the commitment by Government to pay the allowances at the end of February and we hope our members will receive what is due to them”, said the NAPSAWU President.
