MBABANE:Ian Khama, the former Botswana President says the umbrella he was using on Tuesday morning when touring flooded areas in Botswana-Palapye, was a gift from the Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund(SMVAF).
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the former President said he received the gift when attending the Finals of the annual MVA Ingwenyama Cup as it was raining.
“I only attended one game, the finals and it was raining”, said the former President when speaking to this journalist on Tuesday afternoon.
On another note, the R5million Ingwenyama Cup games are continuing in eSwatini.
Khama was in eSwatini amid political persecution by the then President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s regime and while in eSwatini, he spoke to this Swaziland News in a series of exclusive interviews clarifying the persecution.
The former President subsequently returned to his home country after successfully lobbying the citizens to remove President Masisi through the ballot box.
