EZULWINI:Sifiso Mashampu Khumalo, the Attorney General(AG) and Ezulwini Indvuna allegedly collected over R50million from residents and citizens who secured land through “kukhonta”.
It has been disclosed that, each resident who approached uMphakatsi seeking to allocate part of his/her land to another citizen, “is forced to pay twenty-one thousand Rands(R21,000.00) and the person allocated the land, pays another R21,000.00.
This means for each allocation of land that should be costing a mere cow in terms of eSwatini Law and Custom, the AG normally pockets about fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) and “this money is known as Tinkhomo TeNkhosi” but never remitted to the King.
Google maps online Ezulwini aerial view suggests that, over one thousand(1000) new homes have emerged at Ezulwini since Khumalo took over as Indvuna and this means, over R50million has been collected by the Attorney General and this include other payments where powerful and politically connected individuals paid money to the Indvuna to get ‘plots’ on eSwatini Nation Land.
Ezulwini residents are also expected to pay R21,000.00 when constructing commercial houses within their own land, this directive allegedly came from the Ezulwini Indvuna.
“We pay even when constructing tindlu tekucashisa on our own land. Nangabe nje usukumisa structure within the premises of your home, he demands money”, said a resident of the area whose name cannot be revealed for ethical reasons.
AG Indvuna Sifiso Khumalo declined to comment about the matter.
The AG was appointed by the King as Indvuna after being recommended by the Khumalo family, he is the son of Indvuna MafeleNkhosini.
