MBABANE:Sicelo ‘KhungaNkhosi’ Dlamini, the Mayiwane Member of Parliament(MPs) says he will vigorously continue to advocate for junior police officers salary increment until the security officers receive an “in-contact”.
This comes after both Parliament and the Supreme Court ruled that, Government must increase salaries for junior security officers under Phase two(2) but, the State opted to apply for a review of the court judgement.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Tuesday afternoon, the MP who successfully moved a motion calling for the salary increment said, he was informed that, the matter “is now pending in court and therefore, he will wait for the outcome before pushing it in Parliament again depending on the outcome.
“The issue of phase 2 have been vigorously debated in Parliament with members of parliament collectively agreeing that government must pay,the issue now is at court again so I prefer to respect that and wait for the outcome. Of course I will never stop advocating for the junior officers to get what is due to them because they sent me to Parliament to be their mouthpiece,” said the Mayiwane MP.
