MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says Government is committed to creating an enabling environment for giant and small businesses to strive and access regional and international markets.

The PM was speaking during the celebration of the International Customs Day at the Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS) Auditorium on Friday evening.

“Our economic transformation agenda prioritises the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).These businesses are key drivers of employment and innovation. The Government is committed to creating an enabling environment that allows big business and SMEs to access regional and international markets. Today, we have already heard how customs processes have been digitalized to make it easier for our entrepreneurs to trade beyond our borders. The launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) implementation plan in March 2024 marked a significant milestone in this journey. The plan offers unparalleled opportunities for Eswatini’s traders to tap into a market of over 1.3 billion people. This event highlights the opportunities AfCFTA presents and highlights Eswatini’s readiness to thrive in the broader African market,” said the Prime Minister.
