MBABANE:Mduduzi Magagula, the senior Times journalist has nominated editor Zweli Martin Dlamini as the Secretary General of the Eswatini National Association of Journalists(SNAJ).
The editor was nominated ahead of the eSwatini journalists Elective Conference this week, he was nominated together with Lington Gule(Eswatini TV), Gule was nominated as the President or Deputy President, Mduduzi Magagula from the Times(President), Lwazi Dlamini from Rubicon Media(President) and Fortune Ndlangamandla from Eswatini TV who was nominated to hold different Executive positions.
Other nominated journalists include Times Sports editor Ashmond Nzima, Kwazi Masuku(Independent News), Siphesihle Nxumalo, Nonduduzo Kunene(Times) and Bahle Gama from Rubicon Media.
Times Sports editor Ashmond Nzima also declined the nomination in support of Ntombi Mhlongo as the Secretary General, Khanyisile Mabuza(Deputy Secretary General) and Eswatini TV senior journalist Lington Gule as the Deputy President.
The online nomination process is ongoing and by the time of compiling this report, Musa Ndlangamandla was also nominated as the President while Timothy Simelane(Times) was nominated as Deputy President.
Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini urged stakeholders to support the Association of Journalists adding that, despite declining the nomination, he will also support the organization in securing resources to improve the welfare of journalists.
