LOBAMBA:Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze,the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the King’s Office allegedly colluded with Finance Officer Christopher Gamedze and other officers to loot part of the King’s R33million gift, meant to benefit members of the regiments who participated in the recently held Incwala ritual ceremony.
As a result, some Ingatja(young boys) invaded the King’s Nkhanini Royal Offices on Friday, the angry and aggrived young boys who allegedly attended Lusekwane and the entire Incwala ceremony, were accusing the King of lying to them that,they will after the ceremony, receive ‘Imbasha’ that never reached their pockets.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News on Monday afternoon, King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane said, the aggrieved Ingatja approached the right Office at Nkhanini to communicate their grievances.
“We want to believe they were knocking on the right door.We are not aware of any other office better positioned to handle the matter.The rest of us are irrelevant,”said the King’s Spokesperson.
It has been disclosed that,the alleged fraudsters within the King’s Office, allegedly registered cellphone numbers for individuals who never participated in the Incwala ritual ceremony and,the money was then laundered through their mobile money.
This resulted to hundreds of emaSwati who were hoping to benefit from the King’s R33million gift being left out.
But some young boys who benefited from the King’s gift were seen buying uniform shoes and stationary before the opening of schools.
