MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has urged police officers to continue putting their trust in God when discharging constitutional mandate.
The PM who doubles as the Minister of Police, was speaking during the 2025 Annual Prayer Day and 30th Anniversary of the Royal Eswatini Christian Police Association on Thursday at the Matsapha Police Academy.
“Police work is onerous, demanding and characterised by numerous risks. To discharge it effectively, divine guidance, assistance and wisdom is an utmost necessity. In the short period I have served as Minister for the Police, I have come to appreciate more how demanding and difficult Police work is. Hence, to have a day such as this one, to pray for God’s continued sustenance, is great wisdom.Without the help of God, the Police Service cannot be able to discharge its mandate and surmount all the challenges it faces, yet with God, who is Omnipotent, all things are possible,” said the PM as quoted by Government online platforms.
The Prime Minister said, “building on a true and strong foundation is fundamental if the Police Service is to succeed” in its constitutional mandate.
“The Police vocation requires that the conduct of Police officers is above reproach, displaying honesty and integrity as well as commitment to duty, loyalty and perseverance in their line of duty. I am confident that the services will serve to revive Police officers spirituality, and that the outcome will be commitment in serving the Nation,” he said.
The event was attended by, among other high profile people, former National Commissioner Senator Isaac Magagula, Mayiwane Member of Parliament(MP) who doubles as a police officer Prince Sicelo ‘Nkhungankhosi’ Dlamini, Tinkhundla Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, Manzini Regional Administrator Chief Prince Gija, Reverend Johannes Mazibuko, Chief Fire Officer Luke Lushaba and Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako.
