MBABANE:Sikhumbuzo Tsabedze,the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Eswatini Energy Regulatory Authority(ESERA) has announced a 14.1% electricity increase.
The increase was announced during a press conference on Monday morning, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini had earlier told Parliament that electricity won’t be increased.
Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line and this, means more emaSwati won’t afford electricity units while the Government intensifies moves to heavily tax even solar systems.
