Job opportunity as retired Chief Fire Officer Luke Lushaba’s extended contract of employment comes to an end next month, was receiving R36,000.00 monthly salary.

MBABANE:Luke Lushaba(62),the retired Chief Fire Officer in the Department of Fire and Emergency Services within the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development who was later engaged on a two(2)-year contract, is highly expected to go home next month.

This is according to his contract of employment seen by this Swaziland News, Lushaba was offered a contract in March 2023 that expires this year, he was receiving over thirty-six thousand Rands(R36,000.00) per-month as a salary.

The outgoing Chief Fire Officer declined to comment about the matter.

Luke Lushaba was offered the contract under a cloud of controversy within the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, the contract was facilitated by Clifford Mamba, the then Principal Secretary(PS) who retired about two(2) years ago.

On another note, job opportunities were also created within the Correctional Services under the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs after the retirement of more than ten(10) senior officers.

But Public Service Principal Secretary Sipho Tsabedze who allegedly forged his date of birth to avoid retirement, lost a case at the Industrial Court where he was challenging Government and this means, another job opportunity for a Principal Secretary has been created.

Other known civil servants who are expected to go home this year include Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo and Assistant Commissioner Clement Sihlongonyane who is reportedly walking in his sleep as he gets older while in public service.

Alpheous Nxumalo is reportedly considering seeking an audience with Labadzala(authorities) for another contract of employment.
