Taiwan donates R5.6million to Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Thuli Dladla’s Office, money to be used in ongoing project seeking to build houses for the poor and vulnerable emaSwati.

MBABANE:Jeremy Liang,the Taiwan Ambassador handed over a donation amounting to R5.6million to the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) under Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Thulisile Motsa-Dladla’s Office, the money will be used in the ongoing project seeking to build houses for the poor and vulnerable emaSwati.

The DPM thanked the Taiwan Ambassador for this generosity during a press conference held in Mbabane on Thursday, she said many emaSwati are struggling to afford decent shelter or houses.

“Many emaSwati are struggling to afford decent houses or shelter and, as the most affect include the vulnerable elderly, child headed families, persons with disabilities including those suffering from chronic illnesses”, said the Deputy Prime Minister.

On another note, Taiwan Ambassador Jeremy Liang said his Government was deeply saddened by the recent disaster caused by floods where even homes were destroyed.He said the donation came as a result of efforts made by the Deputy Prime Minister who contacted him asking for support.
