MBABANE:Industrial Court Judge Abande Dlamini is demanding answers from Magistrate Philsiwe Simelane on alleged ‘fraudulent warrant of arrest’ seeking to thrown unionist Sticks Nkambule behind bars.
The Judge has summoned the Magistrate to testify if Nkambule was given an opportunity to defend himself on contempt of court charges before the signing of the warrant of arrest, the matter is pending in court and the Magistrate is expected to be cross-examined by Nkambule’s lawyers next month.
On another note, the Public Transport Union Secretary General was exiled after the Magistrate Court issued a questionable warrant of arrest against him for allegedly defying a court order directing him to ensure that transport was available during the unrest.
The court wondered if Nkambule had powers to drive the vehicles if the public transport workers were defiant, “the matter is pending in court where Nkambule, through his lawyers, is challenging the warrant of arrest”.
It is alleged that, the warrant of arrest was issued without a case number raising reasonable suspicion that, the Magistrate was allegedly ordered to just sign the warrant.
