MBABANE:Joseph Kabila,the former President of the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) was seen touring the multimillion Malkerns Square-eSwatini on Saturday with King Mswati’s Financial Advisor Sthofeni Ginindza.

Reached for comments by this Swaziland News,King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane referred comments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“Kindly take it up with Foreign Affairs.They are the entry point for such visits.We were not privy to the alleged visit,” said the King’s Spokesperson.

It has been disclosed that,the former President secretly arrived in eSwatini about a week ago to meet King Mswati amid escalating conflict with M23 rebels in the eastern DRC,it remains unclear if he has business interests in eSwatini.

But the DRC’s former President’s visit was kept a top secret and the eSwatini media was ordered not to report, sources subsequently informed this journalist “that Kabila is in the country and was seen in Malkerns Square about thirty(30) kilometers from King Mswati’s Lozitha Palace”.

The sources then made efforts to take pictures of the former President and forwarded same to this publication but before obtaining the pictures, it took about twelve(12) hours for this journalist “to verify the information and confirm if indeed Kabila is in the country”.

A senior Cabinet source within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who confirmed the arrival of the President to this Swaziland News said;

“I just know he was in the country Nkhosi.I have no idea what was discussed”.

But conflict is escalating in the eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo after the M23 rebels allegedly backed by Rwanda seized control of the Goma city.
