World Bank Eswatini to launch Public Finance Review report seeking to improve effectiveness of expenditure for sustainable economic growth.

MBABANE: The World Bank Eswatini will soon launch the Eswatini Public Finance Review report that seeks to, among others, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public expenditure and revenue mobilization, in support of sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

In an email sent to the editor of this Swaziland News Zweli Martin Dlamini by the World Bank on Thursday, the international financial institution said, the report will be officially launched by Dr Thambo Gina, the eSwatini Minister of Economic Planning and Development.

Worth-nothing, this is the first Public Finance Review (PFR) since 1996 and “it comes as a result of a collaboration between the World Bank and the Government of the Kingdom of eSwatini”.

A delegation from the World Bank is highly expected to attend the official launch of the report next week in an event to be held in the capital city-Mbabane.

The World Bank is an international financial organization that assists countries reduce poverty and improve the standard of living for citizens.

The international financial institution provides financial assistance,including loans, grants, and interest-free credits while offering policy advice to Governments around the world.

The World Bank also provides knowledge and solutions to development challenges, while assisting developing countries to ensure that citizens have access to education, clean air, water, and energy.

But apart from that, the international financial institution helps countries adapt to climate change and address food security while developing insolvency systems and debt resolution mechanisms.
