Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg announces R1.2billion for the construction and maintenance of roads.

LOBAMBA:Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance has announced a budget amounting to R1.21billion for the construction and maintenance of roads in the country.

Delivering the National Budget Speech in Parliament on Friday, the Finance Minister expressed Government’s commitment to provide quality infrastructure for sustainable economic growth and development.

“Government has made a provision of E371.67 million for road maintenance and major rehabilitation. We have provided E636.12 million for the construction of roads. We have provided E200 million for the of surfacing of rural roads. We have provided E30 million for MicroProjects to continue concreting roads in the 34 rural areas. A total amount of E1.21 billion has been provided in this budget for the roads programme,” said the Finance Minister.
