MBABANE:Thulisile Motsa-Dladla,the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) of the Kingdom of eSwatini met new Taiwan President Lai Ching-te during an official State visit last week.
As reported by Taipei Report,President Lai expressed his gratitude to Eswatini for its continued support to Taiwan's international participation in various international fields.
“Taiwan and Eswatini have been in friendship for more than half a century, and have worked closely together in the fields of agriculture, economy and trade, education, medical care, etc., among which, assisting Eswatini in the construction of strategic oil storage tanks was the largest cooperation plan between the two countries so far, and they will continue to promote it, and looked forward to more fruitful cooperation results in various fields.Lai Ching-te stressed that Taiwan and Eswatini were both peace-loving countries, and under the threat of the rapidly changing international situation and the ever-expanding totalitarianism, he hoped that the two countries will continue to support each other in the international arena and work hard for the well-being of the two Nations,” reads the online report
On another note, the DPM extended greetings to the President on behalf of King Mswati III, Queen Mother Ntombi Tfwala and the people of Eswatini, she thanked Taiwan for warm welcome, demonstrating the solid friendship between two states.
“Looking back at the results of the partnership, Taiwan’s assistance to the country is demonstrated in various fields, such as the construction of a strategic oil storage tank plan to be launched in April, which will redefine the country’s energy security, and other cooperation plans such as the new headquarters building of the central bank and the electrification plan, which also show Taiwan’s vision for the development of the country and demonstrate the close bilateral cooperation between the two countries,” the DPM said.
