BIG-BEND:Kwazi Sihlongonyane, the Crooks Plantations Branch Secretary of the Swaziland Agricultural Workers Union(SAPWU) has filed an urgent application with the Industrial Court, seeking an order interdicting the company from continuing with an alleged unlawful disciplinary hearing.
Sihlongonyane is accused of seeking permission from the company to go to hospital but, he allegedly went on to visit the Offices of the Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration Commission(CMAC) to report a dispute subsequent to an unresolved dispute in workers salary increase negotiations.
But despite producing a sick-sheet, the company went on to summon the unionist into a disciplinary hearing chaired and prosecuted by the company lawyers Sipho Mnisi and Busizwe Dlamini, the matter will be heard by the Industrial Court on Monday.
The Chairman, despite being conflicted in the matter as “he receives payments from the company as a legal representative”, refused to recuse himself.
