MBABANE:Businessman Lucky Ngubane had some of his trucks attached by the Deputy Sheriff last week to recover over R100million allegedly owed to the Eswatini Revenue Service(ERS).
Ngubani was recently taken to court by the revenue authority, he was also arrested and criminally charged for alleged tax evasion and was released by the court on his own recognizance.
Efforts to reach the businessman for a comment proved unsuccessful as his cellphone rang unanswered.
Two(2) of Ngubane’s trucks were attached in Pigg’s Peak last week and the Deputy Sheriff is allegedly seizing more multimillion properties across the country belonging to the businessman.
But apart from the revenue authority, more institutions including banks and individuals owed by the businessman, are allegedly scrambling to obtain court orders with an intention to seize properties belonging to Ngubane.
This comes after the businessman appeared in court on alleged tax evasion and was immediately ‘red-flagged’ as a risk by some banks, hence the scramble to attach his properties.
