Former Botswana President Lieutenant General Ian Khama says eSwatini Buganu Ceremony well organized with a huge turnout, attended as King Mswati’s main Guest.

BUHLENI:Lieutenant General Ian Khama,the former Botswana President says, he was impressed with the Buganu Ceremony huge turnout at Buhleni Royal Residence last weekend.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday evening, the former President who attended the event as King Mswati’s Guest, said he was also impressed by eSwatini’s adherence to cultural values and the fact that, the event was well organized.

“As usual I was very impressed by the adherence to culture, also the turnout and participation was significant and how everything went ahead so smoothly and exact”, said the former President.

When asked if he witnessed some similarities between eSwatini culture and that of his Botswana tribe, the former President said the cultural practices were different.

“To be honest our two cultures are very different and I did not detect any similarities,” he said.

King Mswati will host another Buganu Ceremony at Hlane Royal Residence in the coming weeks, he declared a public holiday in honor of the Lutsango women’s Ceremony.
