MBABANE:King Mswati’s Buganu Ceremony comes with a huge financial benefit and business opportunities for Emahiya Printers and designers with an estimated revenue standing at over R10million.

This amount is calculated based on the costs of printing Lihiya at Dixies, printing each lihiya cost around four hundred Rands(R400.00) and over twenty-five thousand(25000) women attend the annual Buganu Ceremony at Buhleni and Hlane Royal Residences and this, include civil servants, workers from the private sector and other citizens.

Reached for comments on Saturday, King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane confirmed that, the event comes with a huge economic activity and financial benefit for emaSwati within the Small and Medium Enterprise(SME).

“Naturally, ideally and logically where there is human activity or gathering, a business boom or benefit can be assured.In this particularone,even the informal  entrepreneurs  benefited a great deal through the sale of traditional  outfit  and food as the case is during the other traditional activities such as Incwala and the Reed Dance which pools crowds far larger than soccer in Eswatini. Tourism too enjoys a fair share of the benefits pegged to such activities since a host of international visitors  converge in Eswatini to be part of these traditional crowd pullers.There is surely more than just booze and dance going with the annual Marula Festival,” said the King’s Spokesperson when responding to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.

King Mswati through Home Affairs Minister Princess Lindiwe announced Monday, 10th March 2025 as Lutsango Holiday.
