MBABANE:Former Botswana President Lieutenant General Ian Khama says, he agreed to meet Mozambique opposition leader Venâncio Mondlane because he has a vision for democracy.
The former Head of State was speaking to the editor of this Swaziland News Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday afternoon who asked him to clarify the purpose of the meeting with the Mozambique opposition leader, Mondlane recently survived an assassination attempt in his home country.
“He has a vision to contribute towards building democracy, peace and stability for his country and came to ask me to share my experiences when I was President,” said the former Botswana President when speaking to publication.
Mondlane survived an assassination attempt last week amid violence in Mozambique subsequent to the disputed elections, the “main opposition leader believes he won the recent elections but the process was allegedly rigged in favour of the ruling Mozambique Liberation Front(FRELIMO).
