MBABANE:Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako allegedly led a delegation that went to report Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo to Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini on alleged rape allegations.

Nxumalo is accused of ‘raping’ his friend’s two(2) children, the friend is a junior Pastor under Pastor Mhlanga and according to information leaked to this Swaziland News, the Government Spokesperson would pretend to be visiting the friend and then sleep with the children.

The Pastor whose name cannot be revealed to protect the victims approached Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako to accompany him to report the alleged crime to Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini who doubles as the Minister of Police. 

This was after Alpheous Nxumalo allegedly used his political power to block the family from reporting the matter to the police, the meeting between the PM and Hlatjwako’s delegation allegedly took place at the Prime Minister’s Residence at Tubungu last week Monday.

In the State Intelligence electronic recordings in possession of this publication, it appears that, Nxumalo blocked the family amid fears that, his request for a contract renewal was about to be presented to King Mswati hence powerful individuals within his faction in Government helped him to sabotage the case.

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo declined to comment when reached by this Swaziland News on Tuesday evening.

Efforts to reach Reverend Senzo Hlatjwako for a comment proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report but in the State Intelligence recordings, Hlatjwako’s name is mentioned as the person who assisted the family in reporting the matter to the PM.

On another note, this is not the first time “an attempt is made by the Tinkhundla regime to undermine women and children’s rights in protection of those who are powerful and politically connected”.

A University student who was allegedly raped by Prince Sicelo was denied justice and despite protests and pressure from women’s rights groups, senior Superintendent Clement Sihlongonyane sabotaged the investigations.

As reported by the State owned eSwatini Observer,Nxumalo publicly confessed in church that, he was HIV+ and it remains unclear if the children were not infected.

But despite the confession that was recorded,Nxumalo subsequently took the newspaper to court, denying that he was HIV+, he then confirmed in court that it was actually his wife who was HIV+ not him.
