MBABANE:Owen Nxumalo, the Minister of Education and Training has urged new graduates of the National Handcraft Training Centre (NHTC) and the Co-operative College of Eswatini (ECODEC) to contribute to the development of the country.
The Education Minister was speaking during the double graduation ceremony in Ezulwini on Thursday morning.
“Graduands,I challenge you to take heed of what you have learned in these institutions and to go out from this place with passion; with a driven determination to use your knowledge and your skills to make a difference to the lives of emaSwati. I wish you the best in your lives-embrace the challenges and get ahead of the change.Find your purpose and take your share in shaping the lives of emaSwati,” said the Education Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
On another note, Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Mancoba Khumalo who was also present during the event said, the Ministry was proud of ECODEC, Handcraft Centre and the skills they produced.
“EmaSwati won't overcome poverty by being employed alone, but by also learning the skills necessary to make them become employers. The skills that they learn from these institutions equip them with the capability to start their own businesses and also employ people.I want to particularly appreciate the students that are graduating here today. You have achieved something exceptional.We wish you all the best as you get into a new page in the chapter of your lives and we want to encourage you to take the lessons that you learned from these institutions and put them into good practice,” said the Commerce Minister.
