MBABANE:Business Eswatini whose Chief Executive Officer(CEO) is Nathie Dlamini has successfully applied for an interim order, stopping SwaziMed Annual Shareholders’ Meeting organized by suspended Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane.
The suspended CEO stands accused of looting millions of public funds and, refusing to account to the Governing Board while thretening the existence of the country’s largest medical scheme.
Business Eswatini, an organization representing various companies whose employees are contributing to the SwaziMed Fund but, now “struggling to access medical-care as the Medical Aid is fast becoming valueless amid rampant looting, subsequently approached the court interdicting the suspended CEO from calling the meeting as he remain suspended by the Governing Board”.
Judge Ticheme Dlamini stopped the Shareholder’s Meeting scheduled to take place on Wednesday pending finalization of the matter, the SwaziMed corruption scandal was exclusively exposed by this Swaziland News and has been developing for the past three(3) weeks.
“The annual shareholders’ meeting unlawful called for by the First Respondent and for the 26th of March 2025, is hereby set aside including but not limited to any and all decisions taken at such meeting,” reads the court order in part.
The Judge subsequently ordered the SwaziMed suspended CEO to file his opposing papers on or before the 2nd of April 2025 and, the Applicant has been ordered to reply on or before the 7th April 2025.
