BREAKING NEWS:Business Eswatini runs to court amid missing millions, wants suspended SwaziMed CEO Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane and removed Board Chairman arrested for defying court order.

Friday, 28th March, 2025

MBABANE:Business Eswatini has filed an urgent application, seeking to arrest suspended SwaziMed Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane and removed Board Chairman Samuel Sammy Dlamini for alleged contempt of court.

This comes after Dlamini and the CEO defied a court order stopping Eswatini Med from hosting the Annual General Meeting(AGM), the AGM was held strategically with an alleged intention and/or attempt to remove Board members “who are demanding accountability of public funds amid multimillion looting” within the country’s largest medical scheme.

“That the First and Second Respondents be declared in contempt of Court, specifically, in contempt of the Court Order handed down by Honourable Judge Dlamini under case number 633/25 on 25 March 2025 and which Order is attached to this Notice as “A”; That the First and Second Respondents be committed to prison for 30 (thirty)days for contempt alternatively that the matter be postponed to a date whereupon the First and Second Respondents are called upon to show cause why they should not be committed to prison,” reads the court papers in part filed by Business Eswatini.

The defied court order was issued by Judge Ticheme Dlamini and as a result, Business Eswatini now wants the resolutions unlawfully taken during the AGM on the 26th March 2025 declared null and void.

Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane, the suspended SwaziMed Principal Officer stands accused of looting millions of public funds within the country’s largest medical scheme and in the process, demonstrated gross insubordination towards the authority of the Governing Board by refusing to account for the public funds.

The suspended CEO went on to abuse his alleged proximity with Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini and Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla in that, he allegedly unleashed State armed police officers to harass and intimidate members of the Governing Board merely for, demanding accountability amid missing millions within SwaziMed.
