MANZINI:State police officers from the Operational Support Services Unit(OSSU) military wing, invaded the Caritas-Manzini on Saturday afternoon and stopped a political meeting organized by eSwatini’s main and largest opposition party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO).

The police rushed to Caritas after the Times of eSwatini reported on the newspaper’s social media pages that, the PUDEMO meeting was continuing at Caritas despite being stopped at the SNAT Centre and at the time, the police had assembled at SNAT Centre after receiving information suggesting that, the meeting will take place there.

But this is the first time the police stopped a PUDEMO meeting, a few weeks ago, the State police stopped a strategic meeting organized by the political organization.

Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political parties are banned and not allowed to participate in elections.
