MBABANE:Mphandlana Shongwe, the veteran leader of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) was stopped by a police officer from the Operational Support Services Unit(OSSU) while being interviewed by Times Sunday senior journalist Mduduzi Magagula.
This was after a battalion of police officers stopped a meeting organized by PUDEMO at Caritas-Manzini on Saturday,the OSSU Police Unit further dispersed a meeting organized by junior police officers in demand for a salary increment.
“Just leave this place”, the OSSU police officer said.
PUDEMO’s Mphandlana Shongwe who was with National Organizing Secretary(NOS) Siboniso Mkhabela wondered why the police stopped the veteran leader while being interviewed by the journalist.
“What is your problem now because you have stopped the meeting?”, asked Mphandlana Shongwe, the PUDEMO veteran leader.
PUDEMO is eSwatini’s main and largest political party fighting for democratic reforms in eSwatini.
