MBABANE:The Europe human rights donor organization that supported editor Zweli Martin Dlamini with a security grant about six(6) months ago has approved his audit statements and further pledged to pump-in more money.
The continued financial support means that, the editor will now receive, two hundred thousand Rands(R200,000.00) as an annual security grant.
On another note, other human rights organizations pledged to support Swaziland News projects including investigative journalism.
“Once you account for monies received, you will never go wrong with donors, all they want is accountability and to see the project they are supporting being a success. Such support is highly appreciated because the Tinkhundla regime wanted to financially suffocate me and the publication so that, I can struggle and stop writing news but, the international support motivates me to continue working hard as a journalist,”said the editor.
The editor further thanked even individuals who supported him, resulting to the Swaziland News represented by top South African Advocates in the matter where King Mswati and his Government was attempting to silence the publication through a strategic litigation.
Dlamini said considering the fact that, “he is being attacked by the State with resources, he wouldn’t have survived” without the support from human rights organizations and individuals.
“If you are pursuing a just cause, God will always touch people who will support you even in the wilderness”, he said.
