LOBAMBA:Siphephelo Maseko,the King’s Praise Singer Ingwenyama Cup Winner was pushed and prevented from touching His Majesty when taking pictures after accepting his trophy on Sunday.
Worth-noting, the King was seen smiling and, did not avoid the close contact with his new and young Praise Singer, emaSwati are not allowed to be in close contact with the King while foreigners are normally seen hugging and touching him.
It is alleged that, “those close to the King believe touching the Monarch will result to that individual, sourcing some supernatural powers from the King and be considered for political appointments”.
Maseko won the Ingwenyama Cup tournament under the King’s Praise Singing Category, the Cultural Tournament was sponsored by Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund(SMVAF).
