LOBAMBA:Manzi Zwane, the Nhlambeni Member of Parliament(MP) says, Parliament won’t allow the violation of workers rights and defiance of court orders including Parliament.

The MP who was chairing the Public Accounts Committee(PAC) proceedings on Thursday, was addressing Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Luke Lushaba amid reluctance to release R17million overtime allowances for firefighters.

“We won’t allow the violation of workers rights, defiance of court orders including Parliament”, said the Nhlambeni MP and Acting PAC Chairman.

The Acting PAC Chairman further reminded Lushaba that, Parliament and the courts ordered the payment of the allowances for firefighters and therefore, the payment must be made.

“We can see that the money is available and it was budgeted to pay the firefighters, we can’t allow a situation whereby the firefighters will starve without something to eat yet their money is available,” said the MP.
