MBABANE:Alpheous Nxumalo, the eSwatini Government Spokesperson was in the early hours on Sunday grabbed by the police on rape allegations.

The rape allegations against the Government Spokesperson were exclusively reported by this Swaziland News on the 11th March 2025 after this investigative journalist obtained information from the State Intelligence, Nxumalo stands accused of raping his Pastor friend’s children and is currently detained at Mafutseni Police Station.

Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati,the Police Spokesperson declined to comment.

It is alleged that, Nxumalo would pretend to be visiting the friend and then, allegedly rape the children.

But before being exposed by this publication, a powerful faction linked to Alpheous Nxumalo tried to sabotage the case using the name of the King.

The faction alleged that, the King was totally against Nxumalo’s arrest but, it later transpired that Mswati never interfered with the investigation amid the rape allegations.

Nxumalo is highly expected to appear in court on Monday or Tuesday and this publication obtained all the necessary evidence substantiating that, the Government Spokesperson “has been detained at Mafutseni Police Station”.

This evidence was collected to avoid any attempt to defeat the ends of justice in this matter as Nxumalo’s faction has been vigorously trying to block the arrest using King Mswati’s name.
