MBABANE:The Women’s League of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has welcomed the arrest of Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo on alleged rape charges.
In a statement released on Sunday night, PUDEMO applauded the Swaziland News for exposing the Government Spokesperson amid rape allegations, leading to his arrest.
“The People’s United Democratic Movement Women’s League wishes to commend the Swaziland News Newspaper, its staff members and whistle blowers for exposing the corrupt, nefarious and debauched government Spokesperson who is a known sex pest and alleged rapist.Through meticulous, calculated and precise investigative journalism, the Swaziland News team has been able to avoid a miscarriage of justice whereupon certain elements within government and the judicial system were hellbent on protecting the shameful, disgraceful and out-of-date government Spokesperson,” reads the statement in part.
PUDEMO then called for maximum support for the victims of the Government Spokesperson, Nxumalo is highly expected to move a bail application.
