MBABANE:King Mswati says, tourism has the power to enhance economic growth and development in the absence of natural resources.
As quoted by Government online platforms, the King was speaking on Monday evening at Mbangweni Royal Residence during a dinner organized by Shiselweni businesspeople as part of his birthday celebration, the event was also organized to mark the official launch of Hill Hotel.
"Where natural resources are scarce, tourism has the power to significantly expand a country’s economy. To attract global visitors, a Nation must have strong infrastructure to ensure tourists have an engaging experience.It is important that each country creates employment opportunities to improve livelihoods. Such developments should also lead to infrastructure improvements that will enable investment. The country is looking at a holistic approach to economic growth, be it through agriculture, natural resources, financial services or tourism, amongst others,” said the King.
