MBABANE:The Farmers Bank(Pty) LTD is suing The Swazi Bridge online publication for about R100million after the publication of alleged defamation articles against the bank.
According to court papers filed on the 19th March 2025, the bank is demanding R50million from editor Manqoba Nxumalo, The Bridge(Pty) LTD and others cited in the court papers.
John Pierre Asfar, the Director of the Farmers Bank is demanding an extra R20million in his personal capacity from the online publication and editor Manqoba Nxumalo.
But the Swazi Bridge recently lost a lawsuit against Dennis Mbingo, the then Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the First National Bank(FNB) Eswatini after accusing him of having sexual relationships with female staff members.
