MBABANE:Simanga Welcome Dlamini, a nephew to Principal Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology(ICT) Phesheya Dube has been allegedly killed by the police.
It has been disclosed that, Simanga Dlamini disappeared after allegedly stealing a bank card belonging to a neighbour at Siphoconi ka-Nyama area.
But the owner rushed to the police after receiving an in-contact suggesting that, the suspect was swiping at Swazi Plaza on Monday.
Dlamini was subsequently apprehended while buying at Century Fashion-Mbabane and heavily assaulted by the police who subsequently told his relatives that, he committed suicide while in police custody by hanging himself with a jacket.
Efforts to seek a comment from PS Phesheya Dube proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, declined to comment about the alleged killing of the suspect.
