Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Luke Lushaba secretly employs new twenty-five(25) officers, Civil Service Commission(CSC) Executive Secretary confirms employment amid public outcry.

MBABANE:Nhlanhla Mnisi,the Executive Secretary of the Civil Service Commission(CSC) has written a memorandum to the Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Luke Lushaba confirming the employment of twenty-five(25) emaSwati without a recruitment process.

But when this Swaziland News verified the information with Government officials close to the matter, they said these newly employed fire officers were on a waiting list after the last recruitment hence there was no need for them to go through another recruitment process.

Chief Fire Officer Luke Lushaba whose contract was recently renewed after retirement, is alleged to have prepared and submitted a list of candidates to the CSC for consideration.

“The Civil Service Commission considered the following below mentioned candidates for the twenty-five(25) Trainee Fire Fighters position, Grade C1 and directed that we request the esteemed office of the Chief Fire Officer to provide the following details not later than end of business on Thursday the 8th May 2025”, reads the memo in part.

Luke Lushaba, the Chief Fire Officer had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

On another note, some emaSwati told this publication that, they passed the interviews, made to sign employment documents but dumped at the time when they were expecting to go for training.
