MBABANE: South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa said neighbouring countries that include Eswatini and other neighboring countries will benefit from COVID-19 vaccines worth over R375million($25million) donated by MTN.
Addressing the Nation on Monday evening after the arrival of one million units of the COVID-19 vaccine, the President said it was important that citizens of the neighbouring countries benefit from the donation because they interact with South African citizens.
He then assured that no individual will be forced to take the vaccine or be deprived the right to travel in and out of South Africa, admission in Universities or other institutions for refusing to be vaccinated.
The President then eased restrictions and further lifted the ban on alcohol, he said this decision was influenced by the decline in hospital admissions.
“The sale of alcohol by licensed premises for on-site consumption such as restaurants, taverns and places like that will be permitted throughout the week from 10am to 10pm. This changes have been made possible by the significant reduction in COVID-19 hospital admissions across all Provinces “ said the President.
