MBABANE:Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini says, former Senate Deputy President Ngomyayona Gamedze spoke on behalf of friends during his wedding and that’s how close they were with the Sive Siyinqaba Chairman.
“In 2013 I was his campaign Manager lobbying Members of Parliament(MPs) to vote for him into Senate and he successfully won a seat. During my wedding he told my friends and relatives that he was a Deputy Senate President because of Zwemart who assisted him to secure votes. I was shocked to learn that he was appreciating what I did for him, Most politicians don’t appreciate, they think they can do things on their own but he was different. We once had a minor disagreement with the then Prime Minister Barnabas Dlamini who was also close to Gamedze and ‘Ngoma’ called me watsi “ukuphi ngikulayishe ngikumikise ku-Barnabas ngoba angati nihishana njani niMalangeni nobabili. At the time I had taken a break from the media focusing on investigation. Gamedze was a man of peace,” said the editor.
The editor said, personally he “has lost a close friend” because being close to senior citizens helped him to learn about life and get proper guidance”.
