Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo says Parliament must allow the courts to handle SwaziMed issue without interference as MP Marwick Khumalo demands answers.

LOBAMBA:Sifiso Khumalo, the Attorney General(AG) has urged Parliament to allow the courts to handle the SwaziMed issue without any interference from the Legislative arm of Government.

The AG was clarifying the issue after Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) Marwick Khumalo demanded answers from Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg regarding the alleged interference of the Central Bank of Eswatini(CBE) in the matter and, if the ongoing tension within the Governing Board won’t affect emaSwati’s access to medical care.

“The matter is pending in court so it wouldn’t be proper for Parliament to be seen interfering. Let us allow the courts to handle the matter,” said the Attorney General.

SwaziMed Board led by Bheki Maziya was confirmed by Judge Mumcy Dlamini as the legitimate SwaziMed Board however, Samuel Sammy Dlamini and Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane is challenging the enforcement of the order, they are represented by lawyer Sdumo Mdladla.
