MBABANE:Thulisile Dladla, the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) and her officials within the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) are allegedly colluded with Asians to steal and sell donated food meant to benefit poor, vulnerable and financially struggling emaSwati.
A concerned Liswati took pictures of beans and rice with “Siyinqaba” national logo being sold in an Asian national owned shop, the food was written “not for sale” and the pictures were sent to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
A questionnaire was sent to the DPM, however, she declined to comment about the matter.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Wandile Dludlu, the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) accused the DPM of abusing her proximity to royalty to engage in corruption” adding that, “emaSwati who were supposed to benefit from these donations are suffering” on a daily basis.
“It’s proximity to royalty that is influencing the DPM to engage in corruption, she is not even respecting the Prime Minister because she believes she is closer to the Queen Mother. Once these people enjoy close proximity to royalty, they then perceive themselves as part of the royalty, steal and engage corruption with impunity,” said the PUDEMO Deputy President.
On another note, the stolen public food sold by the Asians was allegedly donated by Japan and on Friday, the Deputy Prime Minister received rice worth over R45million from Taiwan.
