MBABANE:Standard Bank Eswatini has donated fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) in support of Business Eswatini’s Vukani BoMake project that seeks to empower women.
In a statement sent to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, Business Eswatini said, the project will be implemented with Far East Textile and, will assist women in utilizing waste to manufacture various products.
“Standard Bank demonstrated its belief in this vision by investing E50,000 into the program-not as a donation, but as a strategic investment in women’s economic empowerment. This funding will enable the beneficiaries to produce “Welcome Home” gift packs for clients who have completed the Bank’s Rural Housing Project, showcasing their craftsmanship while promoting their circular economy. The quality of their work has already caught the bank’s attention-with one of their upcycled Ottomans which was presented as a gift to Standard Bank in appreciation, and is considered for display in the halls of Standard Bank’s private banking office-a testament to the program’s potential,” reads the statement in part.
On another note, when handing over the donation, a representative from Standard Bank mentioned that, the support was not just charity but, an opportunity for these women to prove their skills, earn a living, and contribute to a sustainable economy.
