MBABANE:One Billion Rising Eswatini with continued support from the MTN Foundation, has once again affirmed its unwavering commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women through another round of Community Circle Conversations focused on women’s constitutional rights.
The first session of this impactful series was held in Kutsimuleni under the Mkhiweni Constituency on the 19th May 2025, these conversations are part of a broader, strategic campaign to raise awareness about women’s constitutional rights, particularly around economic participation and the protection of small, community-based businesses led by women.
Colani Hlatjwako, the Africa Regional Coordinator for One Billion Rising, emphasized the transformative power of sustained community engagement in advancing women’s rights.
“When we bring women together in safe, supportive spaces to talk about their rights, we begin to dismantle the barriers that silence them,” she said.
Hlatjwako said, through the support of partners like the MTN Foundation, we are able to reach women in rural communities who are often left behind, and provide them with the tools and knowledge to protect their livelihoods and assert their constitutional rights.
