MBABANE:John Steenhuisen,the leader of the Democratic Alliance(DA) and Agriculture Minister in the South African Government says, his political party joined the Government of National Unity(GNU) just to keep Jacob Zuma and his uMkhonto weSizwe(MK) Party from power.
Steenhuisen was speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, United States(US) President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa were addressing the media at the White House and the Ramaphosa delegation clarified the unfounded allegations of white genocide in South Africa.
The DA leader further clarified that, their intention in joining the GNU was to keep the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) and Julius Malema away from the Union Buildings and prevent him from taking power and controlling Parliament.
Steenhuisen was subsequently interviewed by the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) exclusively, after the press conference and he repeated his sentiments, critical of the EFF and the MK Party.
